AI Transparency & Acceptable Use Policy

1. Your content belongs to you

You retain ownership of everything you create using REBEL AF Books, including notes, ideas, themes, outlines, manuscripts, chapter drafts, edits and Voice DNA transcripts. We do not claim ownership of your creative work. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, process and generate content so we can provide the services you ask for.

2. How we use artificial intelligence

AI may be used to analyse your writing style, identify themes and ideas, organise your content, create structured outlines, generate chapter drafts, improve clarity and readability, transcribe Voice DNA interviews and personalise writing suggestions.

AI is designed to support your creativity, not replace your judgement. You decide what goes into your manuscript.

3. AI service providers

To provide AI features, relevant content is securely processed through trusted third-party providers, currently Google (Gemini models) and OpenAI. These providers process information solely to generate the output you request through REBEL AF Books. We select providers that publish commitments about the handling of API-submitted content and apply appropriate technical and contractual safeguards where required by data protection law.

4. AI training

Your content is not used to train AI models operated by REBEL AF Books. We do not sell, licence or knowingly permit your manuscripts, transcripts or personal data to be used for AI model training. Your work stays private unless you choose to share it.

5. Voice DNA

Voice DNA creates a personalised writing profile. If you use it, your speech is streamed for transcription, the transcript is analysed to understand your writing style, and the resulting profile is used only to generate content for your own projects. The audio itself is not stored in our database or file storage.

Your Voice DNA information is never shared with other users and is not used to train AI models. You can delete your profile and transcripts at any time from the Voice DNA page.

6. AI audit logs

To maintain security, investigate technical issues and support customers, we keep technical records of AI requests made through the platform: the purpose of the request, the provider, the model, the timestamp and basic processing information. We do not log the content of your prompts or the generated output. These logs are retained for 12 months.

7. AI limitations

AI is a powerful assistant, but it is not perfect. AI-generated content may contain factual inaccuracies, include outdated information, omit important context, resemble content generated for other users, or need editing before publication. It should not be relied on as legal, financial, medical or other professional advice. Review everything carefully before publishing.

8. Human oversight

You decide what information to provide, which suggestions to accept, what edits to make and what is ultimately published. AI assists your writing; it does not make decisions on your behalf.

9. Acceptable use

When using our services you agree not to:

• upload content you do not have permission to use;
• infringe another person's intellectual property rights;
• generate unlawful, defamatory, harassing, fraudulent or abusive material;
• generate content that sexualises minors or promotes violence, self-harm or illegal activity;
• attempt to exploit, reverse engineer or interfere with the platform, or extract our prompts and workflows;
• circumvent usage limits or share account access;
• create malware, phishing material or other harmful content;
• use the platform in breach of applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse our services.

10. Privacy and security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted storage, encrypted communications, secure authentication, role-based access controls, row-level security and security monitoring. Only authorised personnel and trusted service providers can access personal data, and only where necessary to operate the platform.

11. International processing

Some AI providers process information outside the United Kingdom. Where international transfers occur, appropriate safeguards are applied in accordance with UK GDPR. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

12. Copyright and originality

Although you own what you create here, AI-generated content may occasionally resemble content generated for other users or material already in the public domain. We cannot guarantee that AI output will always be unique or free from third-party rights. You remain responsible for reviewing your work before publication and for ensuring its use complies with copyright and intellectual property law.
